Hello beauties!
So I am not one for routines. I never do the same makeup routine, I never really do my hair the same way or use products in the same order, I am just plain bad at routines. BUT, there is one routine that I try my hardest to do at least once a day, but really should be doing twice a day!!
That routine is CLEANSE, TONE, & MOISTURIZE.
Now I won't lie to you, I am that girl that can fall asleep in a full face of makeup and not wake up with a single pimple on her face, mind you I know it can take up to two weeks for it to form, but even then I won't get one.
Now most of you who read this probably are blessed with the same thing.
BUT this routine isn't only for cleansing, there are many benefits to this routine such as,
helps prevent premature aging, healthy glowing skin, && more!!
lets get into the routine!!
CLEANSING: This is the first step to your routine. Cleansing is not only getting the dirt off your face, but to help keep your pores clean. Pimples come from pores that are clogged with dead skin cells that have been infected. It may be easy to wash the the noticeable dirt off your face but you actually need just more then soap and water to get deep into those pores.
To find a cleanser that will get rid of dead skin cells look for any of these ingredients on the label:
salicylic acid
benzoyl peroxide
retinoids
glycolic acid
lactic acid
*all of these are doctor approved and come in over the counter face washes.
Now cleansing your face is only effective if you are using the right cleanser.
Here is a little guide to help you pick the right one!
Oily: use an oil-free cleansing gel that doesn't dry out your skin
Normal: use a clear, foaming cleanser
Dry: use a non-foaming or creamy cleanser
When washing your face, you do not want to tug on your skin. Lightly massage it in your skin using circular motions. You can either just wash it off using hands and water, or if you want a little exfoliation use a damp washcloth to wipe off the cleanser.
TONING: Toning helps in removing any residual dirt or cleanser on the face. It also helps in restoring of the skin, making it ready for being hydrated. No matter what skin type you are you should never just use just alcohol. Use toners that have ingredients like witch hazel or chamomile.
To apply the toner to your face, use a cotton ball and use upward motions. NEVER apply to the eyes or lips.
MOISTURIZING: Moisturizer helps in restoring the natural moisture to your face and making it more soft, supple and glowing. No matter what kind of skin you have make sure your moisturizer is noncomedogenic, which means it doesn't block pores. If you have dry skin use a SPF during the day and a cream (which has less water) at night.
I hope all this helps you out there find a routine!!
